Created in July 2019, the SXM Sport Mouvement association aims to develop sport and fight against delinquency in Saint-Martin. After an eventful year 2020, sporting events are restarting for this new year.
On Sunday January 17, ten futsal teams (2 U13, 6 U15 and 2 U17) from different areas of the island met at the Sports Hall to play friendly matches.
“We are starting again this year with sports events that help and occupy the neighborhoods young people, but also to fight against violence ”, insists the President of the association, Julius Richardson. The latter specifies that SXM Sport Mouvement represents the Ufolep Federation in Saint-Martin, with the aim of developing sport in the region, and as a recurring leitmotif "fight against violence".
Also, in order to achieve its objectives, the association takes charge, locally, of the steps to join Ufolep.
Faced with the enthusiasm of young people from Saint-Martin to participate in Futsal matches, President Julius Richardson thanks the teams who came last Sunday to participate in the matches.
In addition, this Sunday, January 24, will take place a senior Softball tournament in which six teams will participate. The first ball pitch is scheduled for 11:30 am on the lawn of the Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium. Free entry.
