As part of the modernization of the issuance of the national identity card (CNI) in the communities of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, the Civil Registry service of the community of Saint-Martin informs the population that it will continue to process requests for a national identity card between February 27 and March 24, 2017, a transitional period before the implementation of the new procedure.
As of March 24, 2017, requests for identity cards from Saint-Martin will be processed directly in Martinique, using the same secure procedure as for biometric passports. The format of the new electronic identity card will remain unchanged and free (except in the event of loss). From March 24, 2017, it will be possible to complete a pre-request for a national identity card online on the website of the national agency for secure titles https://predemande-cni.ants.gouv.fr/.
Each user can then make a request for an identity document in any community (or town hall) equipped with a collection device, and no longer only in their municipality of residence. After examining the file, a text message will be sent to the applicant to inform them that their title has been made available to the depository authority.
