The black series continues! Just three days after the fatal accident at the end of the Nettle Bay straight, a 19-year-old girl on a scooter was killed this morning on the road to Sandy-Ground.
According to the first elements collected on the spot by the gendarmes, the young moped rider was overtaking a vehicle when she collided with a flatbed-type truck which was arriving in the opposite direction. The gendarmerie specifies that the victim was not wearing a helmet.
Transported in serious condition to the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital, she unfortunately died from her injuries.
Since the start of 2021, three fatal scooter accidents have been reported in the Northern Islands, two in Saint-Martin and one in Saint-Barthélemy. _AF
