After the recent drama in Baie aux Prunes where a sixty-something man lost his life, another drowning was to be deplored at the start of the week in Grand-Case, near the Rocher Créole. A young skipper, 19 years old, wanted to join the six American tourists who had taken the initiative to bathe, far from their boat.
Unfortunately, once in the water, the young man from the Grenadines never reappeared on the surface. His body was found four meters deep and transported by boat to the pontoon.
Arrived immediately at the scene of the tragedy, the firefighters and the SMUR practiced a cardiac massage for almost half an hour. In vain.
Due to the presence of water in the lungs, the medical examiner confirmed death by accidental drowning. _AF
