Appointment: Sofia Carti becomes the third vice-president

Following the March 2017 elections, Annick Petrus was appointed third vice-president in charge of the family solidarity pole. According to the organic law, as vice-president, she was also an ex officio member of the executive council.

On September 27, Annick Petrus was elected senator for Saint-Martin and in accordance with French law prohibiting the plurality of mandates, she had to resign from her post of vice-president and member of the executive council. However, she retains her mandate as territorial advisor.

Annick Petrus therefore did not sit in her usual place around the table in the plenary session of the territorial council on Friday morning, waiting to know who would succeed her as vice-president.

During this meeting, elected officials were indeed invited to designate the one to replace her. Only one candidacy was presented, that of Sofia Carti. It is therefore the latter who was appointed third vice-president in charge of social affairs and education. She took over all the delegations from Annick Petrus and became a member of the executive board. The two women therefore exchanged seats around the table.

It should be noted that the members of the territorial council also welcomed the arrival of Alain Gros-Desormeaux, who succeeds Ramona Connor who resigned at the end of September due to his four consecutive absences at four consecutive sessions during a period of four months.
