The first Martinique Boat Show will be held from May 16 to 19, 2019 at the Z'Abricots pond marina. Organized with the support of CACEM, the event has two components.
“On the one hand, we have 3000 m2 on land intended for professional builders, construction sites, dealers, fittings, distributors, engine manufacturers, boat rental companies, kitesurfing, diving, kayakers, motorboating, excursionists, light and traditional sailing, pesca-tourism, for present their products, new products and know-how. And on the other hand, next to this traditional general salon, we offer a used multihull salon. The idea is to group in one place a maximum of used catamarans for sale. And also to make future buyers discover the possible services in Martinique "explains Eric Vasse, the organizer. The stated ambition of the "Martinique Boat show" is to install this show in the international calendar of nautical events.
“There is no other show for the sale of used boats for individuals in the Caribbean,” says Bülent Gülay, President of Metimer. The Saint-Martin seafaring trade association organized a show similar to this one in 2005 in Saint Martin called CUBS. But despite its success, it could not repeat the experience in the absence of financial support. Metimer is working with the Direction de la Mer, the FIN and other associations for the development of boating in the West Indian region and will participate in the Martinique Boat Show.
If this year the show is likely to be centered on Martinique, although other islands participate, the organizers have the ambition to develop it throughout the Caribbean next year. For Eric Vasse the objective is clear: "this is the first of a long series".
