Thanks to a great collaboration between the Métimer association and the Daniella Jeffry Professional High School, the students of the establishment had the opportunity to work on the repair of two boats which will become school boats and available for hire.
One of them, named "Orphie", a First 21, will also be inaugurated and launched during the Fête de la Mer this Saturday, June 11 in Grand-Case. The public participating in the festivities organized by the Métimer association will therefore attend this first anchorage. Completely renovated by the high school students, the lifting keel sailboat will then be at the Friar's Bay Sailing Club. The small houseboat is ideal for all those who would like to learn to sail or improve their skills in navigation. Initially, a training boat for the youngest, Orphie will be available for daily hire from this summer. The students of the professional high school will soon be working to give a second life to "Barracuda", a Jeanneau Selection, a racing-cruising monohull perfect for regattas. _VX
