During the night of November 4 to 5, 2021, thanks to detection and monitoring provided by the maritime surveillance aerial means of the Customs and the National Navy, the Ventôse surveillance frigate intervened on a fast boat without nationality marks in high seas west of the Lesser Antilles arc.
While the ship was ordered to stop, the individuals on board threw into the sea objects resembling bundles of narcotics.
Despite a full search of the vessel, no narcotic product was subsequently found on board. No registration document made it possible to identify the nationality or the activity of the boat. The latter undergoing a major waterway, its five occupants, of Venezuelan nationality, were taken care of aboard the French frigate, then entrusted to the coast guard of their country at the request of the competent rescue center in the area. .
