The Overseas Departments Issuing Institute (IEDOM) put into circulation on April 4, the new € 50 banknote in the "Europe" series in the five overseas departments and in the communities of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin.

Distribution to the general public will be made through the ATMs of credit institutions. This release will take place simultaneously in all 19 countries of the euro zone. The € 50 banknote is the most widely used denomination within the European Union and in the overseas departments. The leading European printer of euro banknotes, the Banque de France will print a total of 1 billion new banknotes, or 15,5% of the Eurosystem's total. Before the launch, the IEDOM conducted surveys with the various players and invited manufacturers of cash dispensers and acceptors of banknotes, banks, CITs and trade representatives to regular information meetings to ensure that the equipment is properly adapted to the new € 50 note on the date of entry into circulation, April 4. _AF
