0

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a disturbance in the Eastern Atlantic. Called Invest 97L, it is a tropical wave located a few hundred kilometers southwest of the Cape Verde Islands.

According to meteorological trends, the probability of development of the tropical wave is 20% in 24 hours, and 40% in 4 days. These statistics have been lowered by the National Hurricane Center.

According to the Fox Forecast Center, environmental conditions, in terms of humidity in the atmosphere and that of the sea surface temperatures are more favorable in the next 24 to 48 hours. Once this period has passed, conditions should become less favorable for development into a tropical depression or tropical storm.

If the phenomenon develops, according to Flash Hurricanes Weather Antilles, it would pass to the northeast of the Caribbean. Otherwise, if a tropical wave remains, Invest 97L could bring increased precipitation early next week. _pc
