The Top Promotion Foundation is proud to announce that after an absence of 5 years, its culinary event, La Fête de La Cuisine, is back in force and will be held from November 6 to 13, 2022.

The Fête de la Cuisine offers excellence in gastronomy to gourmets and once again positions Saint Martin/Sint Maarten as the gastronomic capital of the Caribbean. Its vision is to showcase, promote and celebrate culinary excellence by creating vibrant community engagement while bringing locals and tourists together, around local chefs and guests. As the Sint Maarten Tourist Office has considered November culinary month, the Fête de la Cuisine will take place from November 6 to 13 (not to be confused with the Festival de la Gastronomie from November 11 to 22, on the French side of the island). This year, seven chefs from the United States, Canada and the Netherlands will demonstrate their talents at an event where they will match food and wine for local professionals and a grand 6-course gala dinner on November 10. Profits from the event will be donated to associations involved in disability awareness. Among the chefs are the Americans Preston Clark and Jake Sawabini, the Canadian Robin Filteau-Boucher and the Dutch Dennis Middelkoop, Willem Dankers, Joris Peeter, Emiel Kwekkeboom, all of whom are in the Michelin guide and finally, Andre van Doorn. Local chefs from the Dutch and French side will also have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents. They will be involved in the preparation of the “Welcome Dinner” of the Fête de la Cuisine. A fundraiser will be linked to the event so that the Sint Maarten culinary team can attend the annual Caribbean cooking competition, Taste of the Caribbean, in 2023. The Fête de la Cuisine does not forget the new generation of chiefs. Several educational and social activities will be set up for the future cooks of Sint Maarten, with, among other things, interactions between them and the guest chefs. Chefs and culinary students will cook together a local lunch on Tuesday, November 8, which will be enjoyed by officials, elderly people and less fortunate children. In the afternoon of the same day, place at Wine Tasting with tasting of wines and delicatessen products, initially reserved for professionals but open to the public from 18 p.m. Spirits will also have a special place in this new edition of the Fête de la Cuisine, with the Spirits Tasting Fair. A master distiller will be on hand along with two well-known New York mixologists. The program is vast and varied until the farewell dinner with jazz concert and cocktails on Saturday November 12, which will mark the end of the 2022 edition of the Fête de la Cuisine. _VX
