Weather (Storm Isaac): The Northern Islands now on yellow alert, schools open today!

0

The Isaac phenomenon, under surveillance since last week, adopted since yesterday morning a trajectory further south than envisaged. Thus, the risk of having cyclonic winds is therefore zero.

However, meteorological phenomena of a certain intensity could be observed at the end of the day yesterday and in the night from Thursday to Friday. Wind gusts to 94 km / h were measured over Saint Barthélemy yesterday morning.

After enhanced vigilance and mobilization of all State services, the Prefect decided to reduce vigilance to yellow level for rain (40 to 60 mm expected), wind (40 to 50 km / h with gusts between 80 and 100 km / h) and dangerous seas at the coast (3m to 3,50m).

Schools will be able to welcome students again this morning. _AF
