The blue zone experiment in Marigot will kick off tomorrow in the city center. The parking time limit is set at 1:30 a.m., Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 18 p.m., except Sundays and holidays.

It was the 1st vice-president of the Collectivity Guillaume Arnell who presented this free parking system to the press last Friday. “It seemed opportune to us to set up this“ blue zone ”system while waiting in the more or less near future for the establishment of paid parking,” he explained. The aim of this zone is to revitalize Marigot: “the city center is dying”, because there are not enough parking spaces. Drivers - including motorcycles, bicycles, motorcycles, scooters and quads - will therefore be required to bring a parking disc and mention the time of arrival. The maximum parking time is 1h30. “During this period, someone has plenty of time to go and make a formality or a purchase,” according to the vice president, adding that the police force will carry out regular rounds. There will be no ticketing during the month of March. The following axes are part of the blue zone: rue de la République; Liberty Street; rue du President Kennedy; rue du Général de Gaulle; rue Victor Maurasse; rue de Saint-James; rue de hôtel de ville and boulevard de France (from places n ° 1 to rue des Pêcheurs).

Where to find the parking discs?

The discs are available at the Collectivity and in the premises of the territorial police from today. Also at the following service stations: Artsen Shell rue de Hollande in Marigot; Best By Gas, in Quartier d'Orléans; Blue Point in Galisbay; Boat services at Sandy Ground and Delta Petroleum in Quartier d'Orléans, La Savane and Sandy Ground.

Shuttle between the city center and the Galisbay car park

A free shuttle - every 10 minutes - will link the Galisbay car park to the market roundabout, from 7 a.m. to 19 p.m., Monday to Saturday (except Sundays and public holidays). This is an alternative solution for those who work in the city center.
