Louis Mussington celebrated for the first time in his capacity as president of the Collectivity on July 14 during an official ceremony in Marigot. He focused his speech on the future of the territory and the direction he wanted to take.

“I invite you to rejoice and embrace these changes with all the determination that this requires. Today all the inhabitants of Saint-Martin can rejoice, for one reason or another and I invite you to take part in this moment of joy,” he said.

“This little piece of land is ours and it is up to us to think about its future. If I have hope that tomorrow will be better, it is because we are working on it,” he agreed.  Louis Mussington also wished that “we learn again to respect this diversity of cultures and traditions which makes our richness”, he confides. And to insist: “tomorrow will only be what we are able to do with it and success only belongs to those who work with conviction and common sense. »

The President of the COM asked "solemnly that everyone do their part, that everyone participate in the development of an environment where it will be good to live whatever the age".

At his side, the delegate prefect Vincent Berton confirmed that Saint-Martin had "many challenges to meet" and that the common denominator for everyone's success was "fraternity".
