The Caisse Territoriale des Œuvres Scolaires de Saint-Martin (CTOS) informs parents of students of the next revision of the pricing for school meals and extracurricular activities, following the recommendations of the Territorial Accounts Chamber (CTC), approved by a prefectoral decree.
Indeed, by a deliberation (n ° 12-2011) dated March 19, 2011 referred to in prefecture on March 29, 2011, the board of directors of the CTOS had revised the prices of school meals, as follows:
• For rationists enrolled in the 1st degree, an increase of 20% per meal is voted, ie a price change from 2,50 € to 3 €.
• For rationists enrolled in the 2nd degree, an increase of 12,5% per meal is adopted unanimously, ie a price change from 3,50 € to 4 €.
Since 2011, prices have never been revised upwards despite the price inflation linked to the cost of goods and the improvements made in the dining halls.
The increase that will be applied from January 1, 2020 will in no way reduce the deficit in the fund. In fact, the cost price of the meal is € 19.79 (cf. 2017 audit carried out by the “Genesis firm”)
The last opinion of the CTC dated October 15, 2019 strongly recommends an immediate increase of one euro on meal prices, namely:
• Passage from 3 € to 4 € for the first degree
• Passage 4 € to 5 € for the second degree
The CTOS board of directors met on November 4, 2019 to decide on the implementation of the recommendations of the Territorial Chamber of Accounts. Concerning extracurricular, the CTC recommends the passage from 50 € per year to 25 euros monthly.
CTOS followed these recommendations but, on the other hand, decided to wait until January 2020 to apply this rate increase
