The news is like a breath of fresh air in the slow reconstruction of Saint-Martin: the smugglers from Pinel have resumed crossings since February 1.
The first two days they only transported a handful of tourists on the only boat that is currently doing the rotations. "The activity is resuming as best we can, but we were anxious to start again after five months without working," says Vidian, one of the smugglers. He adds that he has just spoken to Pinel's restaurateurs who plan to reopen within three weeks.
