An acoustic recorder, installed within the Saint-Martin Nature Reserve, is triggered underwater every four hours, recording underwater noise for one hour, we learned in the latest edition of the reserve's newspaper. This device was installed in late 2016 by three American researchers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and a researcher from the University of Florida who “are working on a mission to monitor humpback whales and others Marine mammals". In addition, another acoustic recorder was installed, this time dedicated to dolphins. “This experience will allow us to get to know a little better one of the rare populations of marine mammals that reside year-round in the waters of the nature reserve.”
