An earthquake of magnitude 3,9 on the Richter scale was felt yesterday at 9 am in Saint-Martin, announced the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Guadeloupe (IPGP). The epicenter was located 28 km north of the territory, 18 km deep. “This earthquake was able to generate, in the closest affected areas, an average ground acceleration of 33 mg, corresponding to a macroseismic intensity II (rarely felt). Depending on the type of soil, the intensities may however have locally reached the III − IV intensity (widely felt) ”, specifies the observatory. Note that last Friday, an earthquake of 2.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in Martinique. This tremor was felt in Guadeloupe with a magnitude 6,1. _EH
