Following the charity and gastronomic dinner organized on October 15, at the restaurant in Le Castellet (Var) by Chef Gilles Goujon and 3 other three-star chefs, for the benefit of the actions of the Rotary-club of Saint-Martin Nord, part of the funds collected was intended for the kitchen-catering training service of the Lycée professionnel de Saint-Martin, for the replacement of defective equipment: a pastry oven, 2 electric hotplates and a positive cold room.

Following the Frigodom fire in the port of Galisbay, this equipment was blocked for a few days but the supplier (the FAIC company, represented by Mr. Lemnos) was able to recover them and install them at the Lycée on Tuesday, February 12.

The reception of this material therefore took place in the presence of Ms. Janine Hamlet, Principal of the Lycée and 4 members of the Rotary-club of Saint-Martin Nord: Jean-Luc de La Haye, President 2018-2019, René-Jean Duret, Vice-President 2018-2019, Régine Hée, Treasurer 2018-2019 and Rigobert Benjamin, President-elect for 2019-2020. The President of the Rotary-club presented a check for € 11, payable to FAIC.

The other part of the funds collected during this charity and gastronomic dinner is used as part of the financing of 2 other Rotary-club projects:

- the creation of a mangrove seedling nursery, for the regeneration of mangroves, in partnership with the Saint-Martin Nature Reserve

- funding for the replacement of exterior doors and windows on a number of houses to be rehabilitated, where the Compagnons Bâtisseurs are already working on frames and roofs with the Fondation de France and have subcontracted the production of doors and windows to a local integration company.
