Food: The "Breakfasts" operation continues in the territory's nursery and primary schools

Several schools registered in the IDEAS system benefit every morning from the “Breakfast” operation. Thus 300 pupils from the Ghislaine Rogers and Elie Gibs schools in Grand-Case and Marie-Antoinette Richards in Rambaud begin their day having stocked up on vitamins.

This action is driven by a strong partnership between National Education, the Caisse Territoriale des Œuvres Scolaires (CTOS) and the Collectivity.

The objective is to allow children not to start the day on an empty stomach, to stay focused throughout the morning and thus to learn in the best possible conditions. This measure contributes to the reduction of inequalities, from an early age.

Nearly one in two school teachers, regardless of level, identifies students in their class who have skipped breakfast.

The reasons given are, in order, lack of appetite, lack of time, getting up early, stress, parents' absence in the morning and economic reasons. _AF
