In application of the protocol, on August 18 the prefect Alexandre Rochatte carried out a PCR test one week after his arrival in the territory. “The result of this test was positive on August 19 afternoon” we learned this morning in a press release from the Prefecture of Guadeloupe. “The test he had performed 72 hours before his departure from France was negative. When he learned of this result, he immediately went into isolation and the RIPOSTE unit started looking for contact cases in order to ask them to carry out a PCR test in turn. This isolation will last at least 7 days and will only be lifted in the event of a new PCR test, this time negative. Having no symptoms to date, the prefect can continue to perform his duties while remaining in isolation during this period ”explains the press release. For the record, the Prefect Alexandre Rochatte, recently appointed Prefect of Guadeloupe, representative of the State in the communities of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin was on the move on August 13 and 14 in the Northern Islands. On this occasion, the Prefect Alexandre Rochatte had met the Prefect Sylvie Feucher, the President of the Collectivity Daniel Gibbs, the elected representatives of the territory and the members of the prefecture of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin.

As part of his appointment, he had made a wreath laying at the war memorial.
