The collective has struck again!

Last Wednesday, the collective had invited all those sensitive to the cause to meet at the Agrément roundabout for a new event.

About a hundred people gathered at the Agrément roundabout, from 6:45 am, to explain and show their fears for the future of education in Saint-Martin. When we arrive, it's already past 7am. The group congregates on one side of the roundabout, the cars circulate quietly. The Territorial Police and the gendarmes are in position to avoid the accident but not really blocking it. Lynn, the now recognized spokesperson for the collective, with the help of representatives of the various establishments, sets out the long list of the problems that remain but we also recognize the advances. Work has been undertaken, others have accelerated. In the crowd present that day, students carrying bags on their heads. Paper bags decorated with sad smileys and slogans on the back. The idea is rather funny. Everyone is in black, we remain in the theme of mourning. And then, suddenly, the order is given to go around the roundabout! Everyone starts to turn in both directions, invading the traffic space. The Agrément roundabout is occupied by adults and children all in black, accompanied by unhappy or sad smileys. The image is fun and the idea relevant. Some motorists grumble but the goal is reached, we can not miss the movement. Between each round, we enumerate the problems… Around 7:30 am, the procession begins its march towards the prefecture where a delegation will be welcomed by the Prefect accompanied by a representative of the Collectivity and a representative of the Rectorate. During the long wait of those who remained outside, we willingly discuss all the subjects that occupy but one subject calls out. "We are resisting" says a teacher who is also a parent. And the other parents and teachers present to approve. Are we resisting? What are we resisting?

Would we become a virulent hair? In fact, they are resisting to let their children in the public… They are numerous to be tempted by private establishments but they refuse to give up. They know that if those who can leave the ship, those who will stay will be really alone ... But we can rejoice at the decisions that have been taken since it seems that from mid-October, committees will meet in each establishment to respond to the issues raised by the reconstruction as and when. These commissions will be made up of the head of the school, a representative of the rectorate, a representative of the prefecture, a representative of the Collectivity, a parent of a student, a teacher, a student. . And then, some priorities, the collective asks that a solution intervene quickly for the canteen of the Elie Gibbs school, the CDI of the school complex and the re-entry of toddlers at Simeone Trott. And we have not forgotten the comfort of the students. The noisiest work will have to be done outside of school hours. Only downside of the day, the meeting with Mr. Fourar, the rector of the Academy who according to the Collective treats the question with a lot of lightness. To be continued, since the Collective prepares its response ..._NB
