EDUCATION: Presentation of the new academic project

0

In 2016, an academic project for Guadeloupe was developed, which included a variation for Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. In the two islands, the objectives of National Education were the same but the actions to reach them were adapted in order to take into account the specificities of the territories.

This year, the process was renewed for 2020-2023. The document was drawn up following a diagnosis and various work carried out locally. "This is a collective effort that brought together the entire educational community", insisted Rector Mostafa Fourar. "We looked at the strengths and weaknesses of the two islands and validated four areas each comprising five levers: performance to improve, routes to secure, staff to enhance and partnerships to strengthen", explains Michel Sanz, deputy academic director of services of National Education in Saint-Martin.

A monitoring committee will be set up; it will meet three times a year. It will make it possible to monitor the progress of the project, to point out the difficulties and to see if it needs to be adapted. “The project is a living document.

It's up to you to bring it to life, ”declared the rector to the education staff.

In addition, Mostafa Fourar would like to set up in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy an academic educational council (CAE) which would take the form of a territorial educational council and which would bring together representatives of national education, prefecture and community. The body would make it possible to study the issues and difficulties specific to the islands independently of the CAE of Guadeloupe.

Finally, the rector announced the recruitment of twelve contract workers to replace the teachers in the first degree who will go on training until the end of the school year. (soualigapost.com)
