Yesterday morning, Juliana Airport was dressed in festive colors to celebrate the 75th year of its existence; this anniversary was also an opportunity to celebrate the reopening of the Terminal.
The passengers of the Winair flight on Tuesday, December 11, were able to disembark in the Terminal, inaugurating for the very first time from Irma, an arrival inside the airport in place of the temporary flags which have since been dismantled.
A section of the Terminal is therefore once again functional to manage arrivals and departures; Although the rest of the airport is not yet operational, this reopening is a big step forward for the reconstruction of Juliana.
Mr Ravi Daryanani, director of the airport evoked before the assembly invited to the ceremony all the admiration and respect he felt for the protagonists who made it possible to achieve this titanic project within the time limits set.
According to him, it is a "giant step" which symbolizes the reopening of the Terminal after more than 15 months of continuous work following the damage caused by Irma.
