"95% of our fleet has been damaged," says Marie-Paule Bélénus-Romana, CEO of Semsamar.

"Many of our tenants are suffering," she continues. “Some live in damaged but secure housing. One of our priorities after Irma's visit was to prevent dangers, particularly at the electrical level, ”specifies the director. An evaluation was carried out on a housing basis and it turned out that 105 apartments were deemed "uninhabitable", of which 75 "should not be rented as accommodation". The greatest damage was noted in Quartier d'Orléans where the ground floors were completely flooded. "Fifty families must be relocated urgently," says the director. To which should be added 240 other homes whose apartments require major rehabilitation.

Semsamar plans to build “reception areas for temporary and final relocation of tenant families”. She estimated the cost at 7 million euros. Rent adjustments were made depending on the condition of the apartments. (More details on www.soualigapost.com)
