Parliament definitively adopted the biodiversity bill last week. One of the major measures of this text is the creation of a French Biodiversity Agency (AFB), endowed with an overseas delegation: a big step for the Overseas and for our territory, forty years after the law on the protection of nature. This institution with a budget of nearly 226 million euros - sponsored by Hubert Reeves - should be set up on January 1, 2017.
As a reminder, last year, the Minister of Ecology Ségolène Royal had received the proposals for the report entitled "What variations of the French Agency for Biodiversity in Overseas?" by Serge Letchimy and Victorin Lurel. _EH
