Operating expenses are expected to fall by 14,54 million euros compared to those allocated in 2018. “This is a significant departure from previous trends. For the record, the actual operating expenses had gone from 105,1 million to 142,65 million between 2012 and 2016 ”, comments the majority who will present their budget at the end of the month.

Today we must repair five, ten, twenty or even forty years of operation of a community, a commune, a sick administration which has reached its limits. “The first avenues of savings identified relate mainly to general expenses with a decrease of 2,3 million, and in particular the maintenance costs of IT equipment (-6%), the costs linked to parties, fairs and ceremonies (-32,9%) and the operating costs of the services (administrative supplies, clothing, missions, service vehicles) ”, specifies Team Gibbs. Decreases must also be made in fees for legal advice (-3,1%), deeds and litigation costs (-41,4%).
Subsidies to associations, businesses as well as allocations to satellites (CTOS, etc.) should also be reduced.
"Finally, the negotiation of public contracts constitutes a point of attention and a sine qua non condition for the success of this process of rationalization and optimization of COM expenditure", it is specified in the report on budgetary guidelines.
"As the Territorial Chamber of Accounts indicated regarding the management of services between 2007 and 2016, the COM has too often favored the interests of its suppliers, providers over those of its population and its taxpayers".
"We must regain credibility, allow the community to regain its credibility," insisted the president. "This will involve political decisions, actions to be implemented even if they are unpopular," he announced.
