Four months after being released from prison, YT was again incarcerated.
At the beginning of September last year, he was sentenced to ten months in prison, six of which were suspended for threatening to kill his brothers and his mother and for committing violence against them. He had explained that he did not accept his brother's homosexuality, and thus threatened to kill him if he saw him with a man. A warrant of committal had been issued and YT had been transferred to prison in Guadeloupe the same day. He came out in December.
On his return to Saint-Martin, he went to his mother's house because “that's where his business was” although the court decision forbade him to come into contact with her. YT again threatened his mother and brother, telling them "I am going to buy a gun and kill you" and damaged the television and the iron. He was arrested by the gendarmes, whom he also threatened with death, placed in pre-trial detention and was the subject of an immediate new appearance before the local court of Saint-Martin on March 10.
On Wednesday, YT requested time to prepare its defense, which it was granted as of right. After nearly an hour of deliberation, the court ordered the continued detention on remand. He offered him two trial dates: the first on March 26 by videoconference with the judges of Saint-Martin, the second on April 13 face-to-face but in Basse-Terre. YT wanted a face-to-face judgment.
