Removal of shipwrecks: the market is revived

0

Two years after the cancellation of the contract signed with the Dutch company Koole for the removal of shipwrecks following the passage of Irma, the Collectivity is launching a new public contract. It relates specifically to "the removal, treatment and transport in the sector subject to declaration of end-of-life boats (BHU)" in the French part.

The company which will be selected and will have registered its activity with the State services, will have to carry out a final location of the wrecks on the basis of the list drawn up in 2019, define the method of removal of the BHU, transport the wrecks to the depollution site, create a storage and depollution platform. On the platform, the boats will be cleaned up, then cut up or crushed and transported to landfill or to another approved site to receive this type of material.

By BHU or other related waste considered to be dangerous, it is necessary to understand the wrecks and waste of boats which are hardly or not visible in navigation, or near areas of housing or frequented sites (marinas, shops, public sites ...), in particular in case of a new cyclonic phenomenon.

In 2019, 140 boat wrecks had been identified. Companies interested in the market have until July 5 to send their file to the Collectivity.

In 2019, six companies responded: Koole with an offer of 2,35 million euros, SNR with an offer of 5,871 M €, SMR TC'Express with an offer of 4,157 M €, Avenir déconstruction with an offer of 3,624 M € €, Le Floch with an offer of 3,706 M € and SN Metal-DOM with an offer of 10. M €. (soualigapost.com)
