A sixty-year-old woman appeared Thursday before the local court of Saint-Martin for driving without a license and in a state of intoxication as well as for having refused to submit to checks tending to establish his alcoholic state.

A little less than two months ago, AV is driving her car on the main road in Grand Case and zigzags. The gendarmes on patrol see her and decide to check her. The woman smells strongly of alcohol and tries to walk away. The gendarmes see bottles of beer in the vehicle and want to subject the driver to a blood alcohol test. She says she cannot breathe for medical reasons. In the end, no test is carried out and the blood alcohol level in his blood remains unknown. "I said I was drunk, I thought that was enough," she admits at the bar of the court. She recognizes the facts without difficulty. She confirms having consumed fourteen beers. A quantity that raises questions from the judges. Moreover, AV of Dominican origin, does not hold a French driving licence; she only has a license issued in the Dominican Republic.

After deliberation, the court handed down a four-month suspended prison sentence and a six-month driving ban.
