National Days / French Red Cross: Events organized in Saint-Martin

0

The national days of the French Red Cross are organized from Saturday May 28 to Sunday June 5, 2016. As part of this major operation, the Délégation Territoriale de Saint-Martin is organizing various events around the island.

The objectives of these days are essentially to:

1. Publicize the actions of the Red Cross

2. Recruit volunteers

3. To collect funds from the population

During these days, the volunteers of the Territorial Delegation of the French Red Cross will be present at different places on the island (Marigot, Sandy-Ground, Galisbay, Hope state, Grand Case, Quartier d'Orléans).

In uniform and provided with a card stating their identity, the volunteers will make you discover the different actions of the association and answer your questions.

Red Cross accessories will be sold and a fundraiser will be organized to finance projects for poor families.

In 2015:

- 253 people were able to benefit from food aid

- 4 people were able to benefit from financial assistance

- 80 candidates participated in a PSC1 training (First Aid Civic level 1)

- 5 candidates passed their PSE1 training (First Aid in Team)

- 15 maraudes were carried out in the evening in sensitive areas for 354 people met.

- 22 first-aid stations carried out at organized events.

Currently, around twenty volunteers are leading social actions and first aid within the French Red Cross in Saint-Martin. This number is far from sufficient.

We need more volunteers to ensure the many actions.

Do not hesitate to join us. We count on your volunteering. It is together that we can fight precariousness. _AF
