Reserve: inventory of species in the islets

0

Their eyes are wide open: Caroline, from the scientific center of the Saint-Martin Nature Reserve, and Karl, from the management team of the Saint-Barthélemy Reserve, have been crisscrossing the islets for over a week to complete the lists of listed species. "As part of our mission to produce knowledge about spaces and species, we hope to better know, understand and therefore preserve the natural heritage of our island," said the reserve, which recalls that certain islets are prohibited for landing, especially Petite Key. This new mission could bring surprises to the team. A few years ago, thanks to the work of academics, new marine species had been discovered: in total, almost 700. A beautiful biodiversity! _EH
