What is SSE?

The social and solidarity economy (ESS) designates a set of companies organized under different statutory forms: cooperatives, mutuals, associations, foundations and commercial companies of the ESS.

These companies seek to reconcile economic activity and social utility, with the ambition of creating jobs and developing greater social cohesion.

Committed to their way of producing and consuming, they offer new possibilities for entrepreneurship. These companies adopt democratic and participative management methods.

Their economic model is first devoted to people, it pursues societal objectives, while promoting local development through the creation of wealth (activity, employment, social ties).

These companies combine sustainable economic performance, environmental impact, employment development, social ties and territorial influence.
