Innovation competition: Initiative Saint-Martin Active presented the prizes

Last Monday, the Les Halles restaurant at Sandy Ground hosted the awards ceremony of the Innovation Competition organized by the Initiative Saint-Martin Active platform (ISMA). Thirteen applications were presented and six of them were selected to participate in the final selection which will determine the three winners.

Jean-Paul Fischer, president of ISMA, which he created 18 years ago, praised the work done by the platform since its existence, and one of whose missions is “to bring people back into citizenship, in daily life, to restore both the courage to undertake, to work and to dignity ”.

"You are the business leaders of tomorrow and, in this sense, you have a crucial role to play in favor of the development of the economy of Saint-Martin," said President Daniel Gibbs to the winners. The prefect Sylvie Feucher stressed that "innovation is essential for the activity of Saint-Martin, for its growth and competitiveness in the face of globalized territories in constant competition".

The selected candidates were Danny Walle who offers an on-board refueling service for boaters located in marinas or at anchor, Jingha Plesdin whose project is to make the territory more attractive thanks to photoluminescence technology which makes it possible to restore light at night, without a power source. Jerry Desbonnes' project consists of offering accelerated and free training on digital jobs in the priority areas of the city and the waking neighborhoods. Stéphane Guyenot's intention is to protect materials, and derivatives of metals, by a powder coating process, while Sunita Mittal wants to put online biodegradable and / or compostable tableware, packaging and accessories, consisting of natural materials.

Finally, Frédéric Tomadin wants to create a coastal circuit, for the inhabitants of the island and tourists who could use electric bikes and take established circuits.

In the end, the 1st prize of 3000 euros was won by Sunita Mittal, the 2nd prize in the amount of 2000 euros went to Jingha Plesdin and the 3rd prize of 1000 euros to Jerry Desbonnes.

The director of ISMA, Sabrina Rivère, wanted to thank Europe, the State, the Collectivity, the BPI, the Bank of Territories, the Pôle Emploi and the CCISM for their financial assistance. But also the firm GCL, Crédit Mutuel, Dauphin Télécom, Samiver, ACO, SMPM, CEPAC, FARWOOD, Sunlight Event and the manager of the restaurant Les Halles. _RM
