Initiative Saint Martin Active: Open a solidarity garage in Sandy-Ground or in Quartier d'Orléans!

0

The association Initiative Saint Martin Active is launching a call for expressions of interest (AMI) to promote and stimulate economic activity in the priority districts of the French part of the island in the field of mechanics.

The objective is to support an entrepreneur in the process of opening a solidarity garage in Quartier d'Orléans or Sandy-Ground. A solidarity garage allows people in precarious situations to repair themselves, or have their vehicle repaired at a lower cost. The mechanic buys parts at cost price from suppliers. In Saint-Martin, it will also be able to recover parts from end-of-life vehicles (ELV) before their revaluation by SXM Verde. The solidarity garage could also be a place for renting mechanical equipment, awareness of eco-driving, car for people who have to go to work and who cannot get around. The customers of the solidarity garage are people in a precarious situation: young people, low-income employees and recipients of social minima who experience difficulties related to mobility. With the garage owner, they will have to prove their social situation. They will be sent by social organizations which identify priority beneficiaries. This solidarity garage opening initiative is part of the City Contract signed in December 2015 between the State and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin. In addition to supporting economic activity, it aims to strengthen social ties in priority neighborhoods. Initiative Saint Martin Active was chosen by the prefecture to support the project leader. She is in charge of preselecting candidates through the call for expressions of interest and supporting them in their efforts. AMI is aimed at existing garage owners or people who want to start their own business. They must submit their project idea to Initiative Saint Martin Active by filling in three minutes an online form available on our website at the following address: www.initiative-saint-martin.fr

The deadline for filing the form is May 31, 2017 midnight.
