Following the fire that occurred on May 8 at the Louis-Constant Fleming Hospital Center, its director, Roland Toussaint wished to provide details on the proper functioning of his establishment.

“The fire of electrical origin which broke out in the storage room of the medical service has made it unusable since May 8. The service did not burn, contrary to what was initially broadcast.

The pediatric service has been operational since Wednesday, May 11.

The LCF hospital was able to reorganize its activity very quickly, knowing that no offer of care has disappeared.

All activities are therefore operational and if there is a particular emergency, the Sint-Maarten Medical Center, with which we cooperate, is able to provide a capacity of 5 to 10 beds.

For information, the work is estimated at around 900 euros and an estimated unavailability of 000 months.

The patients have always been received normally and no break in care has been noted despite this major incident.

I would like to thank all of the hospital staff who were able to carry out a major operation to reconfigure the supply of care in a limited time, which demonstrates the ability of our teams to adapt. ” _AF
