In Saint-Martin, a tribute will be organized at the same time in front of the war memorial in Marigot.

The President of the Republic François Hollande has decreed three days of national mourning - Sunday, Monday and Tuesday - following the Paris attacks of November 13, with a heavy provisional death toll of 129 dead and 352 wounded. It is the first time in France that the national mourning extends over three days. The flags will be at half mast on buildings and public buildings until tomorrow. The president of the Collectivity Aline Hanson today invites the population to attend the tribute to the victims of the attacks, at noon, in front of the war memorial, located in the garden of the Collectivity hotel. Several solidarity demonstrations have already taken place in the overseas territories. Yesterday, at the end of the day, a rally was also organized at the Marigot pier at the call of social networks.

In this difficult time for our country, let us remain united around the founding values ​​of freedom, equality and fraternity which are the strength of France. These values, we must brandish them in all circumstances so that they continue to illuminate our country. ” The Prime Minister of Sint Maarten Marcel Gumbs and the Governor of Sint Maarten Eugène Holliday contacted the President in order to send her messages of support.

Reinforced Vigipirate plan in the French overseas territories

In all the overseas territories, the Vigipirate plan has been reinforced, announced the Minister of Overseas George Pau-Langevin, who was also present alongside the President of the Republic François Hollande at the Stade de France, during explosions.
