Herbaria and corals: annual assessment of the reserve

0

The Saint-Martin Nature Reserve carried out an annual assessment last week of the state of health of seagrass beds and coral communities inside and outside the reserve, reports the organization on its Facebook page.

"Corals, sponges, algae, gorgonians, sea urchins, fish, conch, all of these stands were screened to assess their development on a local, regional and international scale," said the reserve. In addition, the team invites the public to go to the underwater path to observe “the growth of young cuttings of Acropora palmata and Acropora cervicornis, in the nursery submerged by 5 m of bottom”.
