The community of Saint-Martin and the CTOS managed, last Friday, to find an agreement to end the conflict with the representatives of the UTC-UGTG union.

The strike of some of the agents of the COM and the CTOS which began on January 30 at the call of the UTC-UGTG union is over.

The community announced in a press release on Friday, May 17 that the end-of-conflict protocol had been signed between the COM, the CTOS and the representatives of the UTC-UGTG.

“Regarding the situation of former CTOS agents, the main demand of the union, the parties agreed on support for the persons concerned towards stable employment. It has been agreed to meet in the next two months to study their situation on a case-by-case basis. In parallel to this work of professional reclassification, the parties undertook to regularize, if necessary, the salary of the ex-agents over the period from September 2018 to January 2019.

The Collectivity and the CTOS are committed to strengthening the supervision of children in the context of extracurricular activities, in particular through the associative fabric and to communicate to the union the plan to organize extracurricular activities for the future.

The days not worked in February, March and part of April were deducted from the wages of strikers, in accordance with the law. Following the end of the conflict, the parties agreed to discuss the terms of payment for the remaining days until May 17, the date of the end of the strike.

As a reminder, a memorandum of understanding had already been signed on March 20 in which the Collectivity undertook to respond favorably to points relating to the law of public officials (career development, compensation scheme, etc.).

The President of the Community and his team are satisfied with the end of the strike, allowing public service to return to normal.

This social conflict has shown the limits and weaknesses of a breathtaking administrative organization, legitimizing the ambitious and unprecedented project of reorganization that this majority has embarked on "indicates the COM.
