The community of Saint-Martin, under the authority of the vice-president in charge of Sustainable Development, Steven Patrick, proceeded, last Tuesday, to the cleaning of the entrance to Grand-Case.

Thus, several abandoned end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) were removed by the community service company, responsible for the removal of ELVs. These automobile carcasses were then taken to the Grandes Cayes ecosite for treatment and depollution.

Last Wednesday, the Environment and Living Environment department then intervened for a complete cleaning of the site, where old household appliances and many wastes have been stored for several years. This dump has been completely cleaned up by the community.

Tuesdays in Grand Case begin on February 13, 2018. President Daniel Gibbs who wished to support this popular event (a financial contribution was granted by the Tourist Office) wanted the village to be welcoming and clean when approaching the festivities . This new space located along the national road will serve as a parking lot for visitors and residents of the sector.

Since September 6, the community has already proceeded at its expense, the removal of 600 carcasses of end-of-life vehicles. A cleaning campaign that will continue in the coming weeks.
