Ary Chalus, the new president of the Guadeloupe Regional Council, met earlier this week with Overseas Minister George Pau-Langevin on several subjects. “The question of public water service has of course been addressed. The minister reaffirmed the need to reform local governance on a sustainable basis around this issue in order to benefit from financial support from the state for future investments ”, according to the ministry. George Pau-Langevin also recalled “the commitment of the overseas ministry in the Chlordecone plan, in particular for the support of fishermen” and “the financial commitment of the State in the plan to fight sargassum”.
