Frontier: Access of French children residing partly in Holland to schools in Saint-Martin: details from the Prefecture

0

The current health situation shows a very high circulation of the Covid 19 virus in the territory of Saint-Martin (153 active cases and 17 people hospitalized, including two in intensive care at the Guadeloupe CHU). The preservation of populations requires the maintenance of movement restrictions between the two parts of the island.

The meeting to monitor the health situation on September 1, 2020, which was held with the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, the Regional Health Agency and the Prefecture, made it possible to address the issue of maintaining border controls. The State confirms its position but in the context of the start of the new school year, taking into account the complex situation of French children attending school partly in France while residing in Sint Maarten requires adjustments.

In this regard, the parents concerned can therefore apply to the Prefecture for authorization to pass through the box covid19pref@saint-barth-saint-martin.gouv.fr by providing the following supporting documents:

• school certificate

• student's identity document

• identity document of the parent or parents making the trip

• proof of residence.
