In association with the crew of the sailboat Neptune, the RSMA of Guadeloupe reaffirms its links with the Saint-Martinoises and Saint-Martinois through an ambitious project to connect the island of Guadeloupe to that of Saint-Martin by sailboat . Arrival scheduled for December 8!
The RSMA maintains close links with the sister island, on the one hand it allows the youth of Saint-Martin to be trained and to integrate into the local economic fabric, on the other hand it intervenes for the benefit of Saint-Martin. in the event of a natural disaster. The RSMA's recruitment and integration teams are present regularly to present the various training courses to the young people of the island and on the other hand to integrate the young people trained into the structure which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. This nautical project is an opportunity to introduce the world of navigation and its values to 10 RSMA volunteers, including Saint-Martinois: surpassing oneself, a taste for effort, teamwork, the ability to adaptation are on the program for this 300-mile round trip.

The Adapted Military Service is a socio-professional integration system for young people aged 18 to 25 who are far from the job market. Incorporations are done every month. The educational courses of the RSMAs of Guadeloupe from which young volunteers benefit are most often in line with the needs of companies, especially in times of strong need for manpower as is the case in a phase, more or less long, reconstruction and restart of activity. The RSMA staff were present for the clearing of the roads of Saint-Martin from the first hours after the hurricanes and everyone was able to observe their rigor and their commitment.
With a professional reintegration rate of over 80%, the RSMA stands out as a serious alternative for young people looking for benchmarks and a professional future. Its three main axes are recruitment, training and integration with a goal of recruiting 100 people each year on our island. The past year has been satisfactory since 65 recruitments were made in Saint-Martin among the 600 volunteer interns coming from all over the archipelago. To this figure must be added the 6 technician volunteers hired among the 93 technician volunteer contracts in 2021. Applicants generally have few or no diplomas (1/3 is illiterate) and will be able to benefit from training over a period of 6 to 12 months which allows them to obtain a qualification and a job.

We note that at the end of their training, the young people of Saint-Martin return to the island for half of them, while the other half remains in Guadeloupe; this distribution is made according to the motivations of each individual and the professional path they have chosen to follow. It inculcates in young people know-how and interpersonal skills considered as assets with a view to their professional integration.
For its part, the RSMA-Ga is committed to the #SMA 2025 plan and welcomes more than 600 volunteer interns each year. Concerned about the challenges of territorial continuity and aware of the essential role of training and socio-professional integration entrusted to him, he wishes to continue his partnership with the Saint Martin COM to provide Saint-Martin youth with the benefit of its training offer of 30 professions. .
