Very early Friday morning, a motorist was killed in a traffic accident on the AJC Brouwers road. Excessive speed would be the cause of the loss of control of the car.
The driver of a Suzuki Swift was driving towards the roundabout when he lost control of his vehicle, which swerved to the left shoulder of the road. The car slammed into the rocks on the hillside, and then rolled over.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle that ran over him.
The firefighters extricated the victim from under the car and rescue teams administered first aid. Unfortunately, the motorist succumbed to his injuries.
