Refereeing training: the football league of St-Martin whistles the recovery

The Territorial Arbitration Commission of the Saint-Martin Football League is preparing for the resumption. From 06 to 9 August last, 16 participants were trained in the discipline.

16 people participated in the Initial Arbitration and Recycling Training which took place in Saint-Martin from 06 to 09 August 2020. During this four-day training, many points were reviewed. : "From the role of the referee to the rules of the game through the authority of the referee on the field and his attitude in the face of criticism" lists in a press release Aristide Conner, President of the football league of St. Martin. For the occasion, a match organized on the ground of the Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium made it possible to detect the remarkable skills of certain participants. The attention of federal instructor Rodolphe Clavier focused on four trainees, two central referees and two assistant referees, specifies the President of the League. "These are the interns Omaël Maricel, Ishmaël Richardson, Armando Moizon and Jovanny Cozier" he notes. Because of their skills, they were invited to Guadeloupe to lead some meetings. To end the training, a certificate was given to the participants who had completed all the sessions.  Faced with the influx of applications, the training will be renewed at a later date, says Aristide Conner.

Omaël Maricel, assistant referee

Aged 17, Omaël Maricel has shown great skills. "Punctual, always present, very focused on the objectives, agile and mastering the rules of the game, he obtained a proposal for personal support from the instructor" relates the President of the Football League, anxious to be able to put doing everything possible for better football in Saint-Martin.
