Last weekend, the Juventus Saint-Martin football club organized a trip to Guadeloupe for its U7 and U11 teams, to participate in the Omer Geoffroy tournament organized by the Juventa club.

After having moved to Saint-Barthélemy at the start of the season, and always with a view to introducing new things to its young players, Juventus de Saint-Martin has this time decided to send 2 of its teams in Guadeloupe.

At the end of the day last Friday, a delegation of around twenty players, accompanied by five educators and a few accompanying parents, flew to the butterfly island.

These young players were very excited at the idea of flying to a destination unknown to some. The trip went very well and the flight was enlivened by a few "football" songs that were much appreciated by travelers sharing the same flight.

On arrival, head to the cottage to take possession of the premises that would serve as a home over the weekend.

Allocation of rooms, discovery of the swimming pool, shared meals, showers ... only good memories in perceptive for these young children full of stars in their eyes.

The next morning, after a good night's sleep and a full breakfast shared as a team, it was time to get down to business ...

For Juventus of Saint-Martin, it is the U7 who will open the tournament and beautifully with a first victory acquired on the score of 2-0. It will also be the start of a long series, since they will total a total of 6, having beaten all their opponents and having conceded only one goal !!! They will therefore finish 1st in their pool with 30 points, far ahead of the second who totaled 15.

For the U11s, the start was more difficult with a first defeat. The rhythm and the quality of play being superior to what is done on our island, it was necessary to wait for the second match to take the full measure of the event and to enter the tournament with desire and determination, in order to obtain a first victory (2-0), and continue even with a second against the future finalist on the same score of 2-0.

But the cut will be fatal for the U11. After the break, the machine will not restart and Juventus will finish the tournament in 8th place on 14 teams.

For the U7s, the final is looming against Juventa. Unfortunately the young shoots of Juve will fall on the score of 2-1, tired by their 6 previous matches while their opponents will have done ... only 2.

A great experience for young Saint-Martin footballers…

However, this day has been beneficial for all. The learning is ongoing and the two teams have not failed. 2 U7 players will even be rewarded individually. Nolan Leconte, youngest player on the team and maybe even in the tournament, was awarded the trophy for top scorer with 6 goals (photo below) and Mathis VALLAURI (in orange), for best goalkeeper in the tournament with only 1 goal conceded in group stage and 2 in this lost final.

Juventus de Saint-Martin gave a very good image of Saint-Martinois football, praised for its discipline and good humor as well as for the football offered on the pitch.

On Sunday morning, the delegation then went to LA CASCADE AUX ECREVISSES where everyone bathed in cooler water than usual, before taking the plane back to our Friendly Island.

At the Grand-Case airport, a surprise awaited the young champions. First on the plane, a message of congratulations from the crew and the applause of the other travelers. Then the group DES MAMANS DE LA JUVE had organized a song reception and a snack to thank the club and the supervisors, but above all to congratulate their offspring. Again thank you all !!!

The club hopes to repeat this type of trip as often as possible, and sincerely thanks all of its partners who made this trip possible, as well as those who help them on a daily basis each season to meet the various needs that a sports association can have. like that of La Juve.

The club therefore wishes to thank: SUPER U, JAMONT, TRANSBAT, RUNSXM, THE YACHT CLUB, PALMTEES, ERIC AMBULANCES, AIR ANTILLES without forgetting the CLUB DE LA JUVENTA for hosting the tournament and in particular M. PASCAL NAGAU, vice president of the club.

PS: The JUVENTUS club in Saint-Martin is always looking for a location (or a room), in order to store its equipment and have its club house there. The club remains open to any proposal. The club has a 20M2 prefab and a small container, but does not find a place to have one or the other. Please contact us at the following email address Juventus550221@saintmartinfootball.org or at 06.90.54.98.82 Thank you in advance
