FOOTBALL: The League updates its calendar…

Following the hurricanes Irma and Maria that struck Saint Martin in September, the Football League was forced to modify or even postpone certain competitions and development actions initially scheduled.

However, thanks to the support of many partners and institutions, and based on its strong values ​​of ambition, excellence, and desire to unite, the President of the Saint-Martin Football League and its League Council have the pleasure of presenting all the planned actions for the calendar year 2018.

These, integral parts of a new plan to revitalize Saint-Martin football, are based on 3 axes:

1. The expertise of a leading sports personality shared,

2. The participation of selections (young and old) in high-level international competitions and tournaments,

3. Promotion of football in schools and among girls.

Details of planned actions:

1. The expertise of a leading sports personality shared:

• U14 / U15 internship moderated by Mr. Christian GOURCUFF, coach at FC Lorient (2003-2014), Stade Rennais FC (2016-2017), and coach of the Algerian team (2014-2016)

Dates & Place: March 26 to 30, 2018 - Marigot Stadium

2. The participation of selections (young and old) in international competitions and tournaments:

U14 regional selection:

• “Mario Flanders” tournament, Marigot Stadium, May 19 & 20, 2018

• “Carribean Football Union” tournament, from 12 to 16 July 2018 (Caribbean Zone)

U15 regional selection:

• “Claude Elise Memorial” tournament, French Guiana All Saints holidays 2018

U17 regional selection:

• Friendly tournament, Martinique (Dates to come)

Senior Selection:

• CONCACAF Nations League, 1st playoff match in September 2018

3. Promotion of school and women's football:

• School Football Day, in Anguilla, in May-June 2018 (dates to come), open to U9 & U11 categories of Anguilla, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten

• The operation “Ladies cross the barrier, Girls ô football”, Stade de Marigot (dates to come) - Open to players of all categories, from U6s to seniors

Finally, the calendar for the U6, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and Seniors competition stages and matches remains unchanged.
