Watch out for yellow fever in Brazil. The Foreign Ministry is warning travelers wishing to visit this country. “An epidemic of yellow fever is currently developing in two states near Rio de Janeiro. The Quai d'Orsay encourages travelers to be vaccinated, even if the vaccine is not required by the Brazilian authorities ”, according to the ministry. The World Health Organization (WHO), which is monitoring the epidemiological situation, explains on its site that “prevention of yellow fever is easy by means of vaccination, provided that the vaccine is administered at least ten days before trip." The yellow fever epidemic - a disease transmitted by infected mosquitoes - has been raging since the start of the year. _EH
