This day is an opportunity for Ramona Connor, vice-president in charge of the Solidarity and Families Pole, to discuss the professional integration of people with disabilities. The Recognition of the Quality of a Handicapped Worker (RQTH) is a device which enables them to benefit from aid for access to employment. “In Saint-Martin, CAF follows around 400 cases of people with disabilities. Access to employment for these people is therefore a central issue in our social policies. Women in particular face behavioral barriers when it comes to equal opportunities in the world of work, ”said the vice president.
What does the law on the employment of disabled workers say?
"Any employer in the private sector and any public establishment of an industrial and commercial nature employing at least 20 employees, must employ, in a proportion of 6% of its salaried workforce", indicates the government. The employment obligation of disabled workers is subject to a mandatory annual declaration (DOETH).

Record of disabled job seekers
The figures for the number of disabled job seekers for 2014 - recently published by the fund for the professional integration of disabled people (Agefiph) - explode: nearly 452.000 disabled workers were registered with Pôle Emploi at the end of 2014, i.e. 9 % more than in 2013.
