The weekend was busy for the gendarmes who thwarted several attempts to steal vehicles but also a boat engine. A burglary took place in Colombier.
On the night of Friday September 2 to Saturday September 3, the gendarmes suffered "two refusals to comply in the Marigot sector", indicates the gendarmerie. “Two people on a black scooter, faces hidden, fled at the sight of the gendarmes”. During the same evening, "two people on a white scooter, wearing hoods that concealed their faces", also fled in the sight of the police who chased them to the border. Saturday, September 3, “a burglary was reported at the home of a person residing in Colombier”. A television and a laptop were stolen. “The facts were probably committed on the night of Thursday September 1 to Friday September 2”, specify the police. An investigation has been opened.
During the night from Sunday to Monday, around 00:40, two individuals tried to steal a fishing boat engine at the whale observatory in Quartier d'Orléans. The thieves were put to flight by a witness. Upon arriving at the scene, the gendarmes found the vehicle of the alleged perpetrators. The vehicle was seized and an investigation has been opened.
Finally, during the night, around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, September 5, the gendarmes faced a refusal to comply by a van. “The driver crossed the border at Belle Plaine”, indicate the gendarmes. "As part of the right of pursuit and cooperation with the Dutch side, the gendarmes followed this vehicle and blocked it as it entered a dead end." Two individuals were kept there pending the arrival of the KPSM.
